Celebrating World Franchise Day 10 June 2026
World Franchise Day is a great opportunity to recognise the thousands of franchisees, franchisors and business support office teams, who work every day to serve their customers. Creating employment opportunities and building successful businesses throughout New Zealand.
Today June 10th, is World Franchise Day.
The past few years have not been easy. Franchise businesses, like many others, have faced rising costs, inflation, labour shortages, changing consumer spending patterns and more recently the impact of higher fuel costs and ongoing economic uncertainty.

Despite these challenges, franchise businesses continue to play a significant role in New Zealand’s economy and communities. According to the 2024 Survey of Franchising in New Zealand, the sector comprises:
- Over 540 franchise systems
- More than 27,000 franchise units
- Around 11% of New Zealand’s GDP
Franchising extends far beyond food and beverage. It includes automotive services, trades, home services, education, fitness, retail, accommodation, professional services and many other sectors that New Zealanders rely on every day.
Today, our Franchising Consultants would like to acknowledge and thank all franchisees, franchisors, and support teams across New Zealand. We especially recognise those who continue to invest their time, energy, and commitment into building stronger businesses, stronger brands, and stronger communities.
Happy World Franchise Day.
