Learn how to franchise your business.
Deciding how to approach franchising your business is your most important decision.
Franchising can provide you with valuable advantages, and successful franchises leverage these into flourishing business networks. However, not all companies that franchise are successful – often for reasons that can be explained.
The reality is that while franchising has huge potential, it needs to be thoroughly researched and implemented. For some companies, a comprehensive approach to franchising might demonstrate early on that franchising is not actually financially feasible or a good fit.
If your company is one of these, you can trust that we’ll tell you upfront.
Franchize Consultants are well-known for taking a comprehensive approach and giving honest advice. We really get to know you, your business, and your objectives, and we’ll work collaboratively with you from start to finish.
To build long-term value and success, you’ve got to take a long-term approach to franchising your business. We’ve got the skills and expertise to help you do that once and do it right.
Six steps to franchising your business.
We’ll work collaboratively with you to make sure you’re set up for long-term franchise value creation, growth, and sustainability. Here’s a brief outline of the steps involved.
1. Franchising strategy and assessment.
This first phase is all-important. In it, we’ll support you to decide whether franchising is right for your business, and, if it is, what kind of franchise structure will suit you best. After we’ve considered many inputs in a methodical and structured process, you’ll come away with an overall financial feasibility report, operational assessment, and implementation plan.
2. Franchise manuals and training systems.
Manuals and systems are the engine that powers every successful franchise. These will help you transfer your business model to franchisees and retain control of your brand as it scales. We’ll work with you to identify what’s important to your business and help you document it in manuals.
3. Franchise agreement.
We’ll work with you to develop a comprehensive legal brief, based upon the detailed franchising strategy and assessment work already completed, for a specialist franchising lawyer to then complete the franchise agreement you’ll undertake with franchisees.
4. Franchise recruitment infrastructure.
Once we’ve developed your franchise system, we’ll need to think about how you’ll attract and choose franchisees. We’ll create a recruitment plan, franchise recruitment marketing materials, systems for assessing franchisees, and an overall franchise recruitment management system for you.
5. Franchisor capability development.
Franchise-specific training is important to ensure your team understand the kind of management your franchise business will need. We have a range of training programmes to help prepare a team for recruiting, support and developing franchisees throughout the franchising lifecycle.
6. Ongoing franchisor support & training.
Once we’ve completed these five steps to franchising your business, you won’t be on your own. You can keep accessing our expert support through the Franchise Support Programme service. We’ve also got a range of Franchisor Services to help optimise your franchise.
