2025 National Franchise Conference Megatrends and Franchising Leadership
The 2025 National Franchise Conference will address major trends reshaping franchising, including digital transformation, economic pressures, and workforce challenges. Dr. Callum Floyd will lead two key sessions on franchise leadership and effective business planning. The event, open to all industry participants, will be held in Hamilton from 3–5 August 2025. It offers a timely opportunity for franchisors to assess and adapt their systems in response to emerging challenges.
Franchise systems across New Zealand and around the world are entering a period of profound change.
From digital transformation and rising operating costs to shifting consumer expectations and workforce challenges, the next five to ten years will demand more from franchisors than ever before.
That is the backdrop to this year’s FANZ National Franchise Conference, where our Managing Director Dr Callum Floyd will be contributing to two important sessions focused on franchise system leadership, management and performance. These sessions are designed to help franchisors and senior teams explore how their systems can respond to the megatrends already reshaping the franchise sector.
In the Leadership Panel: Megatrends and Franchise System Leadership, Callum will facilitate a conversation with leaders from Aramex, PitStop and Super Liquor on the trends most affecting their businesses and how they are involving franchisees in navigating this change.
In a second, more hands-on workshop about, Building Franchisee Success by Unlocking the Power of Franchisee Business Planning, Callum will guide a discussion on how franchisors can reposition business planning as a tool for sustainable growth across their networks.
These topics are directly informed by the findings of Franchize Consultants’ 2025 New Zealand Franchising Outlook Survey. That research showed that digital transformation, economic pressures and workforce challenges were identified as the top three forces set to shape franchising in the coming decade.
The 2025 National Franchise Conference is an important moment for leadership conversations discussed above.
